April 2004 marked the 30th anniversary of th.

April 3-4, 1974, super tornado outbreak.

It was the worst tornado outbreak i.

U.S. history, with 148 twisters touching down in 13 states. Before it was over 16 hours later, 330 people were dead and 5,484 were injured in a damage path covering more than 2,500 miles.Twenty-five years ago, National Weather Service forecasters could see only green blobs on their radar scopes and had to wait for visual confirmation of the tornado before issuing a tornado warning. Thanks to a $4.5 billion weather service modernization effort, today's forecasters, view evolving storms in graphic detail and can now issue warnings before tornadoes even form, with an average lead time of 11 minutes. "Deadly storms such as the 1974 super outbreak can and will happen again," said Ken Haydu, meteorologist in charge of the National Weather Service's forecast office in Wilmington.

can someone please help me?
There has been another question about what state the series takes place in, bu.

I am not at all satisfied by the answers given.

It can't be a northern state because the weather is always warm.

At Halloween people still go outside in short sleeves. Trees stay green all year round, which makes me think it is a southern state. The climate is not arid, so it is probably not in the South-West.

It isn't tropical either, so Florida and Louisiana can be excluded. Season 4 features a tornado, so it is most probably somewhere between the Mississippi basin and th.

Appalachians, but not th.

East coast. There are references in the series of "going bac.

East", which confirms it isn't th.

East coast. The occasional mountains make me think it is not far from th.

Appalachians. The population looks predominantly white, so it is probably not the middle or south of Georgia.

Alabama or Mississipi, but rather the northern part, or Tennessee.

I think the most likely region is around the border o.

Alabama and Tennessee.

As the story takes place in "the suburbs", it is probably a sizeable city, not a town. By looking at the map.

I would say around Huntsville, Chattanooga, Knoxville, or possibly eve.

Atlanta. Howeve.

I have never been to that part of th.

USA. Could anyone confirm that the architectural style or landscapes in that region look similar to the series ?

Help me determine the most likely location of Fairview in Desperate Housewives?
I'm in Pittsburgh, and it was almost too warm to wear a coat yesterday..

Is this winter going to be a mild one?.

I HOPE SO!!.

I just read that alabama, mississippi and louisianna are getting tornados ... sleet/snow??.

Is that normal for december? Are our climates changing?I dont remember ever being able to not wear a coat- at night even - in december before....

weird weather this winter?
In todays local news, FEMA will begin charging the rsidents of Greensburg $667 a month to stay in the trailers provided to them due to the tornado.Katrina victims have yet to pay a cent for the trailers they still reside in, 3 years after the calamity of Katrina. How can the feds explain this bold, yet almighty ignorant move? They do not charge the Katrina victims for their trailers, and then buy/rent houses and apartments for them until 3/09, up to 1200 a month! The following was released by FEM.

Oct 1st 2008, and is cut and pasted directly from their website.NE.

Urban Development (HUD) are working together to find apartments to house the anticipated 2,000 families that will be moving out of travel trailers or mobile homes and entering the rental housing market..

In order to do that, they are asking landlords to register their available rental units to help link families with homes.FEMA, through HUD's Disaster Housin.

Assistance Program (DHAP), will pay landlords housing DHAP participants up to 120 percent of the fair market rental rate..

Orleans Parish, for example, FEMA will pay up to $1,188.00 per month for a two bedroom apartment. Payments will be made through March of 2009. Individual support continues with nearly $1.3 billion to individuals and families:274,758 individuals and families have been approved for th.

Individuals and Households Program (IHP) totaling more than $1.2 billion; 216,557 individuals and families have been approved for Housin.

The Mississippi Cottage is a part of the Mississipp.

Why would FEMA charge the victims of the Greensburg Kansas tornado $667 per month rental on the RV trailers?

John McCain was born in 1936. What do you think of his world back then?
I am a democrat and am going fo.

Obama, thoug.

I support her decision. Back to the question, will her being pregnant help out the republicans because she had the baby.

Also will the hurricane help out the republicans. Mrs. Bush just said lets take off our republicans hats and put on ou.

American hats. Sounds like a brainwashing sentence to me.

If she cared that much than they would of done more for the fires in California, floods and tornadoes i.

Iowa, and the poverty in Mississippi.

Are the republicans coming back?

Will governer Palin's daughters pregnancy help the republicans. ?
I have read several questions over the last day practically slamming us for living in louisiana, Mississippi, or Florida. Like its our fault there are hurricanes.

Is it me, or is it the only people who are doing the complaining are people who dont live in the south. We just do what we gotta do.

I'd rather deal with a hurricane with days even a week, sometimes more notice, than an earthquake or tornado that just pops up in your backyard while your fixin dinner!Ok, seriously.

I am tired of people judging La. because of Katrina. Dont yall realize the hurricane did not do that to the city. The freakin levee sys. did! and they still didnt fix it. Katrina happened and it was horrible. but can anybody recall that ever happening before.

Its like all of a sudden we get hit by hurricanes.

Its been three quiet years.

Its rarely as bad as Katrina was really, i dont care, i said it.

I just think Katrina bought everyone elses attention down here. No, they have serious doubts that they fixed the levees. They even said (corps o.

Eng.) that this is the first time they get to test them since katrina! TEST! SEE! Those are the people who are stupid! and btw not all Ne.

Orleans was underwater
